Summer Recap Part 1

Hi all.ways supporters!

We’ve been making the most of summer’s long days with fast laps, big climbs, dusty finish lines, and other adventures near and far. From local races to Unbound to Montauk, it’s been a season full of stoke. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to through the beginning of July.

🏔️ Everesting Challenge

In May, we hosted our second annual team Everesting ride: 80 laps of  River Road’s Alpine Hill. We smashed the goal with 116 laps and over 53,000 feet of elevation gained. That’s nearly two Everests! One rider summed it up perfectly: “Those were the most fun hill repeats I’ve ever enjoyed.”

✈️ On the Road

  • Colombia Training Camp: 11 teammates headed south for training miles, big climbs, and limonada de coco. See the magic for yourself in Yuchen’s trip video.

  • Montauk Bikepacking: A small but mighty crew made the 4th annual pilgrimage!

🧠  Skill Building

Coach Tara hosted cornering and sprinting clinics ahead of Harlem and Grant’s Tomb Crits, helping us go fast and turn quickly with more confidence and control.

Former teammate Maddie Irmen Connolly also led an injury prevention workshop, giving riders practical tools to stay strong, mobile, and injury-free on and off the bike.

🏁 Racing Highlights 🏁

Bear Mountain Classic
All.Ways riders braved nerves, climbs, and rain for a gritty, gutsy performance. Strategic pacing and teamwork helped our team stay strong in the mix. A beautiful, and brutal, day on the bike. Kelsey Sellenraad took 3rd place in the WTF Masters 35+ Field!

Local Race Podiums

We’re deep into the season and proud to share that our riders reached the podium at several local races!  Here’s a few highlights from May and June:

  • L&C (June 7)

    • Mckenna Foster in 1st place for the Cat 4/5 field

  • Harlem Crit (June 15)

    • Julia Ledee in 2nd Place for the Cat 4/5 field

  • Grant’s Tomb (June 28)

    • Mia Zhang Nacke in 3rd Place for the  Cat 3/4/5 field

Battenkill Gran Fondo
Josefina Mijac took on this classic upstate New York race, known for its scenic gravel, and punchy climbs. Despite gear issues and riding much of the course solo, it was a beautiful ride and a strong finish.

Unbound Gravel
We rolled deep in Kansas:

  • Wendy S. took on the XL (359 miles!)

  • Sarah Sanborn, Andy Zolyak and Julia Townsend tackled the 200-mile race

  • Andy Zolyak placed 3rd in the NB category

It wasn’t without surprises, from fueling challenges in the heat, lost fillings, bee stings, and a creek-crossing crash, but our riders dug deep, supported each other, and left inspired by the strength of the WTFNB field.

Vatternrundan

After our fellow teammate, Emma Von Zeipel moved back to Sweden, she rallied a few of our teammates out for one of the biggest bike rides in the world for a 315km bike race!

More rides & races
All.Ways teammates also showed up strong at Farmer’s Daughter, Neutral Ground, STB GRVL, and NJ Randonneurs’ Brooklyn 200K—including three first-time brevet finishers!

🌈 Pride Laps

Every week in June, we hosted Pride Laps, celebratory, joy-filled rides open to all co-hosted with our friends at w.0 racing, TBD, Kruis, Girls Bike NYC, and Continental Ostroy. These laps are a reminder of what we’re riding for: visibility, connection, and community.

What’s Ahead?

  • Our end-of-year picnic

  • More clinics + skills workshops

  • Continued training and community connection

We’re also actively seeking sponsors to help sustain and grow this momentum. Want to learn more, or know someone who might be a great fit? Reach out to us at allwayscc@gmail.com.

Thank you for continuing to cheer us on. Your support helps us empower WTFNB riders, grow this vibrant community, and make cycling more inclusive.

With gratitude,
The All.Ways Team
