June 2026 Newsletter

Over the last few weeks, we’ve watched teammates stand on podiums, ride farther than they ever thought possible, learn new skills, tackle tough climbs, and show up for one another in ways big and small.

💜 Pride Laps are back 🌈

Pride Laps are once again rolling through Central Park and Prospect Park, bringing together riders from across the NYC cycling community. This year feels especially meaningful and we’re proud to continue creating spaces that affirm and celebrate trans athletes and the broader WTFNB cycling community.

We are also selling Pride Laps t-shirts, with proceeds benefiting Advocates for Trans Equality, an organization fighting for the legal and political rights of transgender people across the United States.

Come out and join us! We’ll be riding in Central Park with KruisCX on Monday, June 22nd (arrive at Engineer’s Gate at 6:50am to roll at 7am) and in Prospect Park with Angels NYC CC and OutCycling on Friday, June 26 (arrive at Grand Army Plaza at 6:50am to roll at 7am).

Unbound

A huge congratulations to Andy Zolyak, who won the non-binary 250 mile race at Unbound 2026.

Unbound is one of the premier gravel races in the world, and this year’s event was especially brutal. Riders faced triple-digit heat, thunderstorms, flooding, and mud, so much mud. Through all of it, Andy stayed committed.

Wendy Smith was out there facing the same unforgiving conditions in the XL event, pushing through heat stroke, overnight riding, and miles of hike-a-bike mud before ultimately ending after more than 250 miles.

Lost Dot

Three All.ways riders traveled to Portugal and Spain for Lost Dot 101, a WTFNB ultra-endurance event covering hundreds of miles through mountains, storms, and sleep deprivation. To say this required grit feels like an understatement.

Tasha Kim finished the event after more than 145 hours of riding, navigating cold descents, mechanical issues, and exhaustion. Julia Townsend and her teammate battled storms, snow, and hypothermia before making the difficult decision to stop after roughly 500 miles. Kristen Song discovered new confidence in her ability to navigate challenges before scratching in Covilha.

🇨🇴 Colombia!

In May, many teammates traveled to Colombia for four days of riding through the mountains of Antioquia, covering more than 155 miles and nearly 20,000 feet of climbing along the way.

From the colorful streets of Jardín to the winding mountain roads connecting small towns across the region, the trip offered plenty of challenges, unforgettable views, and time to connect off the bike. A huge thank you to Karolo Tours for making the experience so special.

More events!

Closer to home, our randonneurs have been busy. Congratulations to Tracey Hinder on recently completing both a 400k and 600k brevet, and to Kristen Song, Amanda Su, Zoe Verzani, and Maggie Voss on their recent 300k finishes.

We had a strong showing at Neutral Ground this year, too. Several teammates took on the challenge, tackling scenic climbs on both roads and gravel. One of the things we love most about this event is that it truly feels like a choose-your-own-adventure ride (fueled by our friends at Hummingbird Fuels, of course).

And together with Bike & Brew, we hosted a Racing 101 workshop followed by a social ride, creating space for riders to ask questions, share experiences, and learn more about getting started in racing.

Appreciation

Thank you to Coach Tara for leading three skills sessions this season, covering climbing, descending, bike handling, and pacelining. Each session gives us the chance to refine our skills, build confidence, and continue growing as cyclists.

Shout out to Maddie Irmen Connolly, former teammate and Functional Manual Therapist at Kinected, for sharing her expertise at our recent PT clinic. We appreciate how this community continues to support one another across generations of the team!

Thank you to Andy Zolyak for hosting Demystifying Tubeless and generously sharing expertise with the team. Andy is currently tackling the Tour Divide, riding from Banff, Canada to the Mexico border - approx 2,700 miles and 200k vertical feet of elevation. Good luck, Andy!!

Thank you to our sponsors and partners who contribute to all of this. If you’d like to support All.ways as a partner or sponsor, please reach out to hi.allwayscc@gmail.com.
